Hello and welcome to Jan Kahlen’s Real Estate Virtual Office. This site has been created with the intent of providing both clients and others with real estate information pertaining specifically to Kingston and the surrounding areas. It is my belief that education and knowledge are fundamental components in ensuring sound real estate decisions are made and based on all available information in an effort to produce sound buying, selling and investment decisions. It is equally important to ensure open lines of communication with one’s real estate agent to foster a relationship built on mutual trust, professionalism and advice geared towards ensuring the client’s best interests are met. This site is an effort to promote this discourse and to invite discussion, questions, and input, access to important local resources and of course to introduce myself to you!
I first moved to Kingston in to begin my undergrad degree at Queen's University where I also met my wife who was born and raised in Kingston. After graduating we worked a number of years in Toronto and Waterloo finally returning to Kingston in 2002 where I completed my Master's degree at Queen's. My passion for real estate developed early on growing up in Waterloo where our family business was Land Development and New Home Construction. Working in these industries for a number of years while also obtaining my Tarion registration as a registered builder and in conjunction with starting my own property investment company in Kingston, it was a natural transition for practicing real estate as a licensed Realtor. The principles that guide my business philosophy have always been the same: offering honest and professional service with knowledge and integrity and creating long term professional relations. I pride myself on my attention to detail and friendly, professional customer service geared towards ensuring a successful client-realtor relationship and a positive real estate experience.
